Evelyn came to Aviva in 2018, after being neglected by her birth parents. Evelyn was placed in Ana’s family in 2019, at the age of 9 years old. When Evelyn came to live with her new family, she was very much in the parenting role, wanting to care for the younger children and didn’t really know how to be a child. Ana worked with Evelyn on learning how to enjoy childhood in the role of a child, and built a very strong bond with her.
When Evelyn was freed for adoption, Ana asked her if she would like to permanently join the family. Evelyn was very excited to be adopted into Ana’s family and anxiously awaited the finalization of her adoption. The adoption was finalized in June of this year!
